Windows are a key component to the overall design of a new home. Not only do they allow light and air into a space but most importantly they keep the weather, especially water, from coming inside.
When J&R Sundberg Construction installs a window, we take extra precautions to seal the window! For example, we make sure to seal the perimeter of the opening with sticky sheets of self-adhering waterproof membrane, metal flashing and caulk. One of these three layers will stop any water from getting in. Once the opening is water-tight and the window is set, the foam insulation is applied between the window and framing and the finishing can begin!
